The Éditions du Somnium recently published the book « Éclat de physique », which presents a popularized summary of the work of about fifteen PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from the Institut de Physique de Nice.
Can we really pierce a bubble? Could light flow like water? How can we find stars we cannot see? Behind these unusual questions lies a whole world of experiments, intuitions, and discoveries. This book invites you on a journey into the heart of contemporary physics, where researchers’ curiosity transforms the strange into knowledge.
From soap bubbles to the mysteries of light, from playful experiments to bold theories, every detail hides an enigma and opens the door to an adventure. You will also meet young scientists who are driving this research forward. Each shares their journey, doubts, passions, and anecdotes.
Initiated and edited by Nathan Lecaron, himself a PhD student at INPHYNI, this book features a foreword by Roland Lehoucq, an astrophysicist at CEA and renowned science communicator, as well as Mathias Albert, deputy director of the unit. « Éclat de physique » is part of an effort to popularize and disseminate science to the general public, especially students, offering a simple and captivating dive into the world of physics research.
