Electronics workshop
- Description
-
The electronics workshop has two technicians who participate in the routing and design of single- and double-side printed circuits and are responsible for their manufacture. The design of these circuits is performed by CAD/CAM (software: Target 3001, Percival, Galaad; accepted formats: Gerber and DXF). Fabrication is completed with a Technodrill 3-axis milling machine from CIF, which is capable of extremely fine mechanical work.
- The workshop performs first-level maintenance on the Institute’s measuring instruments and advises Institute personnel on purchasing and using electronic equipment.
- The workshop has a stock of basic components (batteries, resistors, etc.) as well as several measuring instruments (multimeters, frequency generators, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.).

Mechanical workshop
- Description
-
INPHYNI's mechanical department designs and manufactures mechanical elements and assemblies required for the laboratory's experimental physics experiments.
Thanks to the skills of its staff, which allow the study of the problem, its contextualisation, the evaluation of the feasibility of the systems and their manufacture, the mechanical department produces many prototypes that meet the requirements of experimental research.
The mechanical department also produces parts and prototypes for other Université Côte d'Azur laboratories, such as the IBV and ICN.
In addition, it provides professional training by supervising numerous trainees, disseminates information by participating in the promotion of the profession of mechanic through external interventions, and provides expertise as a competition jury.
Finally, the department ensures the first-level maintenance of the workshop's machine tools and guarantees their conformity.
Specific skills :- Precision machining: mechanical parts with very tight tolerances and adjustments.
- Micromechanics: very small mechanical parts and assemblies, not exceeding ten millimetres in size.
- Project study: study and design of mechanical projects for experimental research.
