Correlations in coherent light transport: The old story of C1, C2, C3
Seminars of the Institut de Physique de Nice,
Abstract:
The transport of coherent waves in a strongly multiple scattering medium is much richer than what we know from incoherent transport of electrons in dirty metals (Drude´s model). The waves travel along random paths also called modes which interfere on the surface and inside the medium. These interferences set up a variety of correlations classified as C1, C2, C3, which are short range, intermediate range and long range, respectively. In this talk, I will discuss the physics of these correlations and illustrate them by dynamic light scattering experiments from suitable highly scattering suspensions of high index colloidal particles.
